Product Description
4G GPS Telematics Gateway for Battery Management Systems

A pack that reports only when someone stands next to it is a pack that reports nothing in practice. Fleet operators, lessors and warranty managers all want the same three things: where the pack is, how hard it has been worked, and whether anything is drifting out of specification before it fails. The JNFN ANT G4T is a telematics gateway that attaches to a management board over CAN or RS485 and publishes that data over a 4G link, with a GPS receiver for position and an antenna kit sized for a metal enclosure.

The design decisions here are mostly about what happens when the network is not there. The gateway buffers readings locally, transmits on reconnect, and stores a rolling history so a coverage gap does not erase a week of operation. The payload is MQTT with a documented topic structure, which means the data can land in an existing platform rather than forcing a proprietary portal subscription, and firmware updates can be pushed over the air once a fleet is in the field.

Key Features
  • 4G LTE Cat.1 with 2G Fallback: Cat.1 is the appropriate tier for telemetry volume, keeping module cost and power draw low while remaining fast enough for over-the-air updates.
  • GPS and BeiDou Positioning: Position is logged with each reporting interval, which supports theft recovery, lease enforcement and route analysis without a separate tracker.
  • Local Buffering Through Coverage Gaps: Readings are stored on board and transmitted on reconnect, with a rolling history that survives a dead zone of several days.
  • Documented MQTT Topic Structure: Data lands in the customer's own broker with a published schema, so integration does not depend on a vendor portal or a proprietary API key.
  • Over-the-Air Firmware Update: A fleet can be updated without recalling packs, which matters once hundreds of units are in service across a region.
  • CAN and RS485 Host Interface: Works with the ANT and JNFN frame sets, and a mapping table allows the gateway to be adapted to a third-party board.
  • Complete Antenna Kit: A combined LTE and GPS antenna with a three metre lead and an adhesive or stud mounting option, so the equipment can sit inside a sealed enclosure with the antenna outside.

Applications

Leased and financed battery fleets are the strongest fit, because position and usage history answer the questions a lessor actually asks. Swap-station networks use the gateway to see which pack is where and how many cycles it accumulated, and warranty teams use the stored history to distinguish a manufacturing fault from an overloaded vehicle.

Stationary storage installations in remote locations use the same module to avoid site visits, and equipment rental companies fit it to machines where the battery is the most valuable component.

Packaging and Quality Assurance

Delivery includes the gateway, the combined antenna with lead, a 30 cm host harness, a mounting bracket and a printed pinout card. Units are network-registered, GPS-locked and cycled through a reconnect sequence as part of the test.

Ordering: samples from one piece, fleet pricing from fifty. SIM provisioning, broker address, reporting interval and topic mapping are configured before shipment. A 24-month limited warranty covers the gateway module.
