Product Description

A large share of installed battery management boards in the field predate wireless connectivity. They work, they protect the pack, and their only interface is a UART header or a service plug — which means a technician has to open the enclosure to read anything. The JNFN ANT BT20 is a compact bridge module that adds a Bluetooth 5.0 link to a board that never had one: it taps the UART port, transparently forwards the protocol, and presents the pack to a phone application as though the board had shipped with wireless connectivity.

The module is deliberately transparent rather than clever. It does not interpret frames, does not store configuration, and does not require firmware changes on the host board — so it can be fitted to existing installed equipment without a compatibility review. Power comes from the board auxiliary rail across a wide input range, and the assembly is potted and potted again at the connector, because the places where a retrofit module gets installed are rarely dry.

Key Features
  • Transparent UART Bridge: Frames pass through without modification, so the host board's existing protocol, baud rate and command set continue to work exactly as before.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 with Extended Range: Practical link distance of ten to fifteen metres through a metal enclosure with the supplied external antenna — what a workshop or battery bay actually needs.
  • No Host Firmware Change: The module is a hardware-only addition, removing the compatibility review that usually blocks a retrofit programme.
  • Wide Supply Input: 5 to 60 V from the host board's auxiliary output, with reverse polarity protection so a miswired harness does not destroy the module or the board.
  • Potted and Sealed: Encapsulated electronics and a sealed antenna connector for installations under a seat, inside a battery box or behind a panel.
  • Pairing Button and Status LED: A physical button allows pairing without a tool, and a two-colour LED distinguishes idle, connected and data-active states.
  • Antenna Options: A short whip antenna suits an exposed mounting position, while a 30 cm extension allows the module to sit inside an enclosure with the antenna outside.

Applications

Retrofit programmes on installed packs are the clearest fit — whether the fleet is in a warehouse, a marina or a golf course — because the module adds diagnostic access without replacing the management board. Battery builders also fit it to lower-cost product lines where wireless is an optional upgrade.

Service organisations use the module to add remote diagnostics during a warranty period, then remove it or leave it in place depending on the customer agreement, since no configuration is stored on the device itself.

Packaging and Quality Assurance

Delivery includes the potted module, a 20 cm four-wire harness with the matching connector, an antenna and a pinout card. Each unit is range tested and cycled through a hundred pairing sequences before packing.

Ordering: samples from one piece, production pricing from two hundred. Harness connector type and baud defaults can be set at the factory. A 24-month limited warranty covers the module.
