Product Description
AGV & Floor Scrubber Battery Management Overview

Automated guided vehicles and ride-on floor scrubbers run a duty cycle no road vehicle shares: repeated shallow discharge, short opportunity charges, and continuous motion for eight hours with a controller that expects the pack to keep up all day. The JNFN ANT 16AGB is an eight to sixteen series board for 24 V and 48 V platforms, delivering 150 A continuous output, a 2.5 A active balancing stage, and a potted IP67 housing that survives the washdown a scrubber receives at the end of every shift.

What makes this application distinct is the interface, not the current. An AGV integrates with a fleet manager over a fieldbus, and its pack has to report state of charge and alarm status into that system without a bespoke gateway. The 16AGB publishes a compact register set over RS485 and CAN at the same time, so a plant PLC, an AMR fleet controller, or a scrubber's own display can all read the pack independently. The active balancing stage earns its place here because opportunity charging means the pack almost never reaches a proper absorption phase.

Key Features of the 16AGB Active Balance BMS
  • 2.5 A Active Balancing for Opportunity Charging: Packs charged in short bursts never sit in absorption long enough for a bleeder to close cell spread; the transformer stage works during whatever window exists, including partial charges.
  • 150 A Continuous with 300 A Ten-Second Peak: Sized for loaded scrubber traction and for the current spike when a brush motor engages under load on a wet floor.
  • Dual Fieldbus Output: The same register content is published over RS485 and CAN simultaneously, so a plant controller and a machine display can operate without arbitration or a gateway device.
  • IP67 Potted Enclosure: Sealed against the water and detergent spray of a nightly washdown, with sealed connectors and a potted current path.
  • Shock and Vibration Packaging: Terminals and sense connectors are specified against a continuous vibration profile modelled on machine-floor operation rather than road transport.
  • Contactor or MOSFET Configuration: The board is available with a MOSFET path for lower currents or a contactor drive for installations that require a physical air gap on the traction circuit.
  • Battery ID and Service Counter: A stored battery identifier and delivered ampere-hour counter let a fleet manager match a pack to a machine and decide replacement on data rather than on a calendar.

Applications

Warehouse AGVs and AMRs running 24 V or 48 V traction packs are the primary fit, along with ride-on floor scrubbers, sweepers, and autonomous cleaning machines that return to a dock between routes. The board also suits small electric tugs and conveyor-powered transfer carts.

Integration teams appreciate that the register map is published rather than implied, because a fleet manager rollout usually involves three vendors and one integration engineer with a fixed deadline.

Packaging and Quality Assurance

Delivery includes the potted board, a labelled sense harness, four NTC probes, a fieldbus cable set, and a register reference. Each board is run through a repeated shallow-cycle profile and a washdown-rated seal check before packing.

Ordering: Evaluation units from one piece, project pricing from twenty. Register mapping, harness length, and switching configuration can be specified against the machine drawing. A 24-month limited warranty covers the management board.
